As for the Athletes, Jason Made the ski to New town after I was injured Paul stayed with me to make sure help found me, even though I am sure I was not very pleasant to be around. Paul kept me warm by leading me to a lone ice fishing house it was locked but we were able to huddle in the lea of it avoiding the 35mph+ winds. He blew up a sleeping mat and in one of the more comical moments he had to push my immobilized body about 5 ft on the Ice so we would be closer to the ice house and out of the -15 wind-chill. After 45 minutes we decided to make a painful push .5 miles to an occupied Ice House in hopes of warming up. Our support crew arrived driving our good friend Nels Nelson’s green Ford Expedition out on the Ice to pick me up. Unlike the barbed wire and power lines this was a welcome attribute of an expedition across a populated region.
