Sickness & Injury Strikes the 2XtM Team

Hey everyone Thanks for following our wild journey.                                                                                                 Sam Dislocated Shoulder Williston Emergancy roomThis is Sam reporting to you now… Some of you may be thinking how is this possible he is suppose to be out freezing with Paul and Jason but alas I dislocated my arm 2 days ago. I am itching to get back to the near record lows we are having. I am sure Paul and Jason could benefit from any additional body heat. According to the internet I may have some Auxiliary nerve damage. This means I have no control over my left deltoid muscle. Everything else is fine there is no pain, but I am unable to lift my arm above shoulder height. Hope to back on the Ice soon. As of today there is still 248 miles left to go.

Well enough about me.

Kathryn Joyce has been an amazing part of the 2XtM crew doing everything from writing press releases to teaching snowkiting to driving me to the emergency room not to mention spearheading the development of the windsock project. She has been sick the last 2 days but has been doing her best to keep working. Unfortunately her health has took a turn for the worse, she was diagnosed with the Flu today. She has been unable to keep any fluids down she has vomited maybe 10 times in the last 3 hours. She is waiting at our host family Cindy Sanfords until her Dad comes to take her home. She will be at home to Fargo where her Mom Lynn Joyce a RN at Merit-Care can fix her up. We are praying for a quick recovery, Kathryn is very sad to leave especially this week in Bismarck there is so much going on it will be crazy with out her.
